Concrete Bartops were crafted for the Main Bar, Service Expo Station, and Balcony Bar for the one and only Dr. BBQ in St Petersburg, FL.
These concrete bartops were cast in our Vapor finish, which creates a nice, subtle variation in color tone and randomness in the surface.
The main and balcony bars both feature integral drink rails. Rubber mats fit nicely inside the drink rail and bartenders can easily prepare drinks. The mats are also able to be lifted out at the end of shift for cleaning.
Each bar top also features an ADA compliant bar, the perfect height for those with limited accessibility. We mounted hidden brackets to the studs before the wall finishes were hung. This provides a clean installation with no visible supports.
The service bar tops were made in two 22′ long sections. Each section was two 11′ long pieces of concrete. Where the sections come together, the countertop drops down to a wooden butcher block, where the delicious BBQ is chopped up and prepared.
We also created a concrete sink for the men’s bathroom, which has the wood grain texture of rough sawn Cedar. This sink has one large, rectangular trough and sits on a steel base, also fabricated in our studio.
